WHERE ARE THE UPDATES??
February 21, 2014
February 21, 2014
- Valentine's Day Candy-grams were a success, but mostly due to MASSIVE donations made by Mrs. Fudge, Ms. Griffin, and non-N.J.H.S. members. This is not acceptable. YOU should be the ones to make these fund-raisers successful - - not the sponsors and students who receive no benefits. For all members who did donate candy, one volunteer hour per bag was granted. Volunteer hours were also issued to all members who volunteered time and energy to making the signs and fliers, pack treat bags, create the grams, and distribute the completed candy-grams.
- Completed volunteer hours sheets collected and stored in group binders. Need another sheet? Print them out from the General Info page (see above), or get one from the N.J.H.S. Info board across from Mrs. Fudge's door!
- Relay-4-Life American Cancer Society will be on Saturday, April 26th at Twin Lakes Middle's track! The event's theme is "Movies" and our team movies will be The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (see activities page for more information). It is a 12 hour relay and will take place over-night. All members should be present for 3 hours of the event - sign-up sheets for 3 hour blocks are on the N.J.H.S. board across from Mrs. Fudge's door! Volunteers will also be needed to work in the booth, donate beads, and create cancer-ribbon charms. There will be two more meetings (hosted at Sneakers) about this event. Looking forward to seeing you there!
- Field-trip to Disney may only be for just one day (due to cost and other impending field-trips) - more info coming SOON!
- FCAT Writes is next Tuesday, February 25th from 10 am - 11 am! Volunteers are needed to help teachers cover all the words in their classrooms on Monday, February 24th. We will be available as early as 8 am until 6 pm. Bring your hours sheet for sign-offs!
- Teacher appreciation week ideas? It will be from May 5th - 9th.
- Volunteers will be needed to help decorate for the 8th grade dance at the end of the school year. All interested members should see Mrs. Gilbert for more information.
- Volunteers STILL NEEDED by Ms. Griffin to get the library books back in order! Anyone who can help will receive volunteer hour credit! Please contact Ms. Griffin to set up a schedule.

- Valentine's Day Candy-grams are tentatively planned to be sold during the week of February 10-13, with delivery on the 14th by Madeline Castello, Harjot Kaur, Lizaveta Roskach, Temi Ogunfuwa, Emma Korman, and Ashlynn Phillips.
- 1 bag of donated candy = 1 volunteer hour
- Volunteer hour logs collected and filed in binders.
- Ms. Griffin needs help getting the library's books back in order! She is available every Tuesday after school, so please contact her if you'd like to help her AND gain volunteer hours.
- We were well represented at T.L.A.E. Parent Info/Spaghetti Night. Thank you for volunteering!

Discussion held about an N.J.H.S. group display in the Media Center, to take the place of the 1,000 cranes that were there the past few years. We welcome more!
